Kind Fiction return to 4 Corners with their debut Ep “Elmswood”.

The success of their teaser release, featuring the soulful vocals and stripped back 808s of “Fumble” accompanied by the rolling liquid growls of “Kinder Days”, took the pair to number 2 in Beatport’s dnb top 100 & even enjoyed BBC Radio 1 Support from scene staple Kyrist.  This release showcases a reminiscence for the late 2000’s liquid, overlaid with licks of contemporary grit, bringing not only an insight into Kind Fiction’s past influences, but the conditions in which the tracks where conceived and developed.

Dialling back 10 years, Jon & Toby met in Leeds as fellow residents of Northern underground favourite, Overflow (now in its 10th year), both co-members of the Leeds DJ society, Audio Active they began to join forces on break heavy, liquid releases. under their existing alias’s Imprint & Colossus.

Over the coming years the pair continued to work together both musically and professionally in the world of nightclub management, most notably Canal Mills & D.I.Y Drum & Bass hub, The Old Red Bus Station, exposing them to a huge variety of both live & electronic music.

Having left Leeds towards the end of 2019 a decision was made to form a new joint alias, and following a tricky move to Manchester mid lockdown, the pair began work in Ernest from their shared home in the southern suburbs from which their debut EP takes its name and where the artwork for the release was shot.

While the pair have a deep & rich history in the scene as solo artists. This is just the start of a very exciting new chapter for Colossus and Imprint and we couldn’t be prouder to be representing this exciting new duo.
