A powerful cathartic energy is coded deep into the dynamic sounds of innovative young Bristol-based drum & bass artist Kidsonic. A sense of tension and release and strong themes of overcoming challenges and articulating emotions are all tightly coiled into his minimal signature.
For Kidsonic it’s the sound of total escapism. Born blind, and severely vision impaired to this day, his relationship with frequencies and sound runs deep into everything he does. Brought up in a highly musical family, tinkering with production since the age of 12 and writing lyrics from his early teens, his creations are a reflection of everything in his life soundtrack and his hectic west country environment. Everything from reggae to Bangra to heavy metal to dubstep has all been thrown in the Kidsonic pot during his 22 laps around the sun so far… And it’s all galvanised and concentrated into the unique beguiling deep groove fusion you hear today.
​The Memoirs ep is the perfect example of this fusion of sounds and inspirations, ranging from the soulful vocal liquid number 'Have to go' featuring Olivia Locke to the outright Grotty sounds of Radar.
The Memoirs ep came to life after Kidsonic was studying catharsis, the act of expressing yourself through music.
Made in the midst of the pandemic as well as some testing personal times. Inspired by beautiful memories and trying times alike, the memoirs ep takes you on a journey through the mind and memories of Kidsonic.
A powerful and impressive body of work. The future is looking very bright for Kidsonic.
