As the name suggests, Four Corners Music is all about representing the full spectrum of drum 'n' bass artistry worldwide. And that's illustrated perfectly by this EP, a collaboration between the soulful scene veteran Duoscience from Brazil and the often darker-edged rising star Dialective from Estonia. Released on a label based in Hastings.This could barely be more international if it tried.
And that blend of influences pays dividends here.
Opening with the team-up track 'Let it Roll', Duoscience and Dialective deliver a taste of sunlit liquid bliss as head-in-the-clouds chords blend with dancefloor-moving bass and beats.
Then we have an individual track from each producer.
Duoscience goes solo and soulful with 'Daily'. And Dialective takes us one step into the shadows with the darkly-emotive 'Arctic'. We get to hear both artists showing off different facets of the sound while staying true to the atmospheric heart of the EP.
This EP is yet another demonstration of the Four Corners ethos at work, weaving together disparate threads of the drum 'n' bass scene into a coherent yet unique whole, creating something we haven't quite seen before. Don't sleep on this release.
