For our next release we enter the dark side and welcome back one of our favourite artists on the label and someone you should be keeping a close eye on, none other than the Brighton Badboy Leks!
This time round he is joined by our in house Host / Mc / Lyricist extraordinaire and good friend Mc Deefa for a collaborative project that has been doing serious damage on the dance floors over the last 12 months doing the rounds on dub plate.
We love these tracks so much we thought it only fitting to do a full music video down in our spiritual home of the Crypt nightclub in Hastings, so keep an eye out for that!
Lek’s production efforts have awarded him with releases on a plethora of labels such as Program, Hyperactivity, Yamatai, and of course 4 Corners. With a host of others lined up for the future and support from some of the scene’s biggest players we are very excited to be working with leks once again on the label.
Leks draws inspiration from the classic sounds of the late 90’s and early 00's , which you can definitely hear in these two tracks. Couple that with the dark and deadly sounds of Deefa and you have something very special.
While this is a first time release for the pair this is not a new partnership. Long time friends and sparring partners, this release has been a long time in the making and if you watch Deefa’s busy schedule you’ll know why.
Now clocking up an average 100 gigs per year Deefa has travelled extensively across Europe spreading his sound around the world (Spain/ Italy/ Holland/ Switzerland/ Belgium/ Finland/ Croatia) and has hosted for many of the heavyweights of the d&b scene (Andy C, Goldie, Roni Size, Hype, Fabio, Subfocus, Netsky, Teebee, Bailey).
To say these guys have earned there stripes would be a serious understatement and we think you’ll agree that shows in the quality of this release.
If you like your dark side rolling tech then this is definitely the release for you. Hold on tight, once you enter there is no return!
